La Cerise sur le Gâteau
Jerôme Cellier, pastry-cook, organises two-hour children’s cookery workshops, right in the middle of Marseille. There are even lessons for 4/5 year olds. The children go into «his» workshop where they watch the chef demonstrate a recipe. Then it’s their turn to follow the recipe and have a go! Meanwhile, they get a little lesson on basic ingredients. At the end, the little cooks tidy up and go home – with their creation. The recipes vary according to season (e.g. before Christmas it’s chocolate truffles, marshmallow teddy bears etc.) Usually on Wednesdays and Saturdays, all year round except in August and from Christmas Day to January 1st. A little chidren’s shop is also planned. Twice a year or so there is a cooking contest. Season ticket available.
