Les Saintes Maries de la Mer
A big village that has managed to remain quiet and unspoilt...out of season! Capital of the Camargue, les Saintes Maries de la Mer is a great place for the family to walk, cycle or ride: it’s in the country, it’s safe and it’s.........flat!

Drive towards the thalassotherapy centre, you go along beside the east beach for a few kilometres, on a kind of track (but OK for cars) and park at the end. From there on it’s bikes or trainers and you can go as far as the Gacholle lighthouse. Some bits are a bit sandy, making it difficult for bikes, but you can always get off and push! Otherwise it’s pretty straightforward...and so beautiful! 24km altogether there and back but you don’t have to go the whole way! You can do it all year round but if you go in the summer, watch out for the mosquitoes!

Très belle balade à faire en famille. Au début, il y a des rangées de campings cars, donc paysage pas terrible ... après ça vaut le coup !
