Salon de Provence
Salon de Provence is the perfect base for visiting Provence: half an hour from the Luberon, the Alpilles, Avignon, Aix en Provence, the Camargue and the ‘calanques’ (creeks). Nice starting point for walks and bike-rides too.

Four way-marked paths leave from the car-park (next to the SPA). Fairly easy round trips taking between an hour and a half and two and a half hours. On the other hand, not very easy if cycling, specially with children. IMPORTANT! In the summer, walks are not allowed in the "zone rouge" (« red alert zone »), a protected area because of the danger of fires breaking out. The best thing to do is go to the Tourist Office, where they can tell you more about it and give you maps for the walks
