Salon de Provence
Salon de Provence is the perfect base for visiting Provence: half an hour from the Luberon, the Alpilles, Avignon, Aix en Provence, the Camargue and the ‘calanques’ (creeks). Nice starting point for walks and bike-rides too.

As you arrive you are really amazed by the number of horses and ponies! They’re everywhere! The riding centre runs half- or full-day courses during the school holidays (except at Christmas). During the summer holidays there are themed courses (e.g. a horse-ball day, an acrobatics day), group lessons and private lessons. Fairly flexible, depends on demand, needs, availability of instructors etc. The thread running through it all has two essential strands: safety and quality of teaching. With that in mind, «anything» goes. Worth noting: if you, the parents, want to ride while your children have their lessons, the centre will try to organise it. The centre provides a riding hat but you will need to provide boots of some kind (e.g. wellies).
