Salon de Provence is the perfect base for visiting Provence: half an hour from the Luberon, the Alpilles, Avignon, Aix en Provence, the Camargue and the ‘calanques’ (creeks). Nice starting point for walks and bike-rides too.

We really fell for this place, which is a true children’s paradise (not to mention parents!). Vast, tree-filled, fenced grounds, with: swimming-pool, swing, ping pong. The Mas des Vergers has big family rooms and, as the owners have three children themselves, they have all the equipment and above all, they know what travelling with children is like! They can also tell you the best places to go in the area.
